Good day out at the Newquay open - some really good fights for the guys and girls down here, I recommend thinking about competing at the next one - and if you stay the night you can come cold water swimming in the morning with me followed by some Bjj at NorthShore BJJ to round the weekend up.
WOW already a week since the Euro' s - it seems like only yesterday and a lifetime ago that we were there competing- but it's been great to be back in the UK and training this week has been tough but good - gonna keep pushing and improving.
To give us plenty of mat space to train hard we have split the competition training into weight groups during the Xmas break, Under 70kg (or competing under 70kg very soon) and open weight - you don't have to be competing to join in the session come along and push the guys and girls getting ready for the Euros in January.
An amazing performance by the team today - I'm super proud of everyone's work ethic in the run up to this competition and the team spirit and camaraderie was clear to see at the event - Big congratulations to everyone that medalled, competed and supported - you guys and girls were amazing today!! RGA Bucks took first place as a team with 6 golds, 6 Silvers and 6 Bronzes
An incredible Sunday seminar with renowned De La Riva black belt Vicente Jr. Such incredible energy and love for jiu jitsu from this seasoned competitor and instructor. A big thank you to Vicente for coming and for Dave Onuma for bringing him to our gym and always bringing his own knowledge and humour.
Some good results from the london open this weekend - well done to everyone that represented, overall RGA team took Second place in the academy results and a special mention to John Maflin for taking Gold at the Armed forces Submission only Competition and winning some tough matches to medal at both Gi and No gi at the London Open!!!
