The Roger Gracie Academy Buckinghamshire is the only full time Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) club in Buckinghamshire, Our Headquarters are located in the centre of Aylesbury close to the Bus station and train station and we also run regular classes in High Wycombe, Marlow and Milton Keynes. The aim of RGA Bucks is to promote the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lifestyle and excellent ground fighting skills, coupled with superior conditioning to deal with the rigours of sparring and competition.We promote a friendly training environment that suits serious competitors or recreational martial artists alike.

We welcome complete beginners or already accomplished martial artists looking to expand their skills on the ground whatever their background be it Karate, Kickboxing or Kung Fu we can add to their game.

Kev Capel

Kevin first started boxing in 1986 as a junior and later had regimental trials for 32 Regiment Royal Artillery. Shortly after leaving the army Kevin started martial arts in Aylesbury with Tae Kwon Do at a local club before moving on to train in Jeet Kune Do with Neil Mcleod who is considered to be one of the best Jeet Kune Do instructors in the U.K. with qualifications and experience that are rarely matched.

Under Neils guidance Kevin went on to study Judo at the Renrukan Judo Club in Aylesbury and Brazillian Jiu Jitsu with Mauricio Gomes and later his son Roger Gracie the Absolute Bjj World Champion and arguably the best grappler on the planet.

Kevin now holds a first dan Black belt under Roger and continues to train and compete for the Roger Gracie Academy in London, his most notable successes to date are 2014 Black Belt Masters European Champion and 2012 Black Belt Masters British Champion. Kevin has also competed in Judo and Pro Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competitions. He holds a 1st Dan Black Belt in Judo and a black belt in Jeet Kune Do Under Neil Mcleod.

Kevin was first exposed to serious fitness training in the Army and many of his methods stem from these early sessions. After leaving the Army Kevin qualified as a fitness instructor and fitness assessor at the prestigeous Premier Training Global fitness organisation in Oxford. Kevin also attends seminars at Cross Fit London, a fitness company that specialise in Olympic Weight lifting, body weight exercises, Olympic Rings, kettlebells and many more functional conditioning exercises.

Kevins aim is to promote martial arts in Aylesbury and set a high standard of instruction.

Yas Wilson

Yasmine trained and competed in Judo as a junior up to the age of 15 before taking a 10 year break from the sport and came back on the scene with a vengence in 2007 winning a string of ground fighting martial arts tournaments and quickly reaching the grade of blue belt under Roger Gracie.

Having won the Gracie invitational in 2007 at white belt she went on to dominate and win gold again at the Gracie invitational at blue belt in 2008 followed by Silver in the European Championships 2009 in Portugal.

In 2011 She became the first British female to qualify for the Abu Dhabi pro cup, and taking silver in the 2011 world championships in LA and getting a last minute invite to compete in the ADCC finals in Nottingham.

Yasmine won Gold as a Brown Belt in 2013 at the IBJJF Worlds in L.A becoming the UK’s highest achieving female that year and shortly after that was awarded her Black Belt by Roger Gracie.

Yasmine continues to train and compete for the Roger Gracie Academy and is head of the RGA Ladies Team.

Sahid Khamlichi

Sahid Khamlichi is a Roger Gracie Black Belt.  Sahid is not only an accomplished grappler who has medalled at the highest level events across Europe but is also an incredible instructor who's guidance and sound mind have improved all who train at RGA Bucks.

Daniel Lewis

Daniel started training martial arts with Neil McLeod around 2007 at the McLeod Academy in Aylesbury.

His training involved stick fighting, kick boxing, grappling and combining everything into mixed martial arts.  After his initial fights he decided to start training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Kev Capel to improve his ground game in 2010.  Ever since the first time in a Gi he has become obsessed with the art and there after began training in it more and more.

A regular competitor Daniel has medalled at numerous events such as the British Open (Gi/Nogi) and European Championships (Gi) and runs the Sunday Competition classes.

In 2016 he made the step to join the RGA Bucks instructor team full time and also helps with the RGA Kids classes.
